GRATEFUL GABI
Domestic Short Hair
Female; 4 years old
Fostered in Holbrook, MA
-...
Gabi has a pretty sad, intense story. Our heart breaks for her and we hope someone will open up their heart and home to her once they read this.
Gabi mistakenly was transported to Boston immediately after Hurricane Maria to clear our partner shelter El Faro de Los Animales. Upon intake, we realized she was one of 5 cats that was supposed to stay on island as she wasn’t too friendly. Gabi became best friends with Leroy another big black and white cat. He stayed for awhile due to having cat asthma. Finally a couple our volunteer knew told us she wanted to take them both home. We were so excited we couldn’t believe it! We received updates and all was grand.
Fast forward 6 months and our partner shelter receives a call that a rescue in Boston MA had trapped Gabi and found her out on the streets. We got in touch with the owners and they said they would come get her over the weekend ( had never reported her missing) and guess what?? They never came to pick her up 😞 😞 😞
We tried for a few weeks to get
Leroy back and our calls and emails went unanswered. Our volunteer has confirmed he is well cared for and doing great.
Our hearts ache for Gabi but now two years later she is ready for her own family.
She is about 4 years old and fully vetted.
She allows petting and will come up to you but she will never be a lap cat.
She adores other cats and cat treats.
